If you’re having a challenge with team members with open punches, it could be as simple as the way they are logging out.
The Why:
When an agent clicks Logout, a "Logout Punch" is created. Superpunch then checks to see if the agent is logging out early. If not, the logout punch is closed and the "You have successfully logged out" page opens. This signals to the agent that it’s safe to close their browser.
If the agent is logging out early, this signals Superpunch to populate the "Early Logout Window", which offers the agent a chance to create a VTO exception to cover the rest of their shift, or to give a reason as to why they are logging out unexpectedly.
If the agent closes their Superpunch window before this process completes, the logout punch will not close, resulting in an open punch the next time they log in.
The Solution:
Luckily, the solution is very simple! The agent should allow Superpunch to perform this check, and only close the logout window when they see the "You have successfully logged out" message in the window.
Please share this with your team during coaching, and if you have an agent with chronic open punch issues, try this solution before reaching out to GSD.
