Some message options can be accessed from the message bar at the bottom of the message window, such as:
- Emojis
- Attaching a File
- Sending a Message
- Text Formatting
Or some message options can be accessed by hovering over the message itself, such as:
- Pin a Message
- Unpin a Message
- Reactions
- Start a Thread
- View or Respond to a Thread
To use an Emoji in your message, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Select the Emoji icon located to the bottom-left side of the message bar.
- Select the Emoji you want to insert into your message.
- To select the tone of your Emoji(s), at the bottom of your Emoji screen select the Color Circle located to the right of where it says "Pick your emoji..." .
To attach a file, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Select the Paperclip to the bottom-left of the "Type a Message" field.
- Click in the Attach File field.
- Search your saved files on your computer and select the File you want to attach.
- Select Open.
- Select Add File.
- If you want to Edit the name of the file you shared, after you've already uploaded it then follow these steps:
- Select the Information icon to access the chat "Details".
- Select Files.
- Select a File to either preview or download it (depending on the file type).
- If you uploaded a file, select the Edit icon to rename the file.
To remove a file click the X on the top right corner of the file preview.
To send a message, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- When your message is ready to be sent, select the Airplane icon to the right of the message bar to send the current message.
In most cases you can also press the Enter key on your keyboard to send a message.
To move to the next line in the same message, press the Shift and Enter keys on your keyboard at the same time.
To format your text in a message, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Select the Aa button to the bottom-left side of the message bar.
- Select your preferred text formatting options that you would like to use.
You can select the formatting before typing or highlight your text and then follow the same steps to edit the format of your text.
To Pin a message, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Hover over the message you want to pin and select Pin icon.
The pinned message will be highlighted in your chat window and can be found under "Pinned Messages" in the chat "Details" section.
To Unpin a message, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Select the Information icon to access the chat "Details".
- Select Pinned Messages.
- Hover over the message you'd like to unpin and select the X to delete the message from the pinned messages.
To use a Reaction for a message, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Hover over the message that you would like to react to and select the Emoji icon.
- Select the Emoji that you'd like to use for your reaction to the selected message.
Alternatively, if someone else has already reacted you can click on their Reaction to add to it.
To remove your reaction, simply select your Emoji icon just below the message to remove it.
To start a thread, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Hover over the message that would like to start a thread on and select the Message icon .
- Select Start Thread.
- Type your message in the "Type a Message" field in the "Thread" slide out that will appear to the right of your screen.
To view or Respond to a Thread, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Select the Reply link located below the threaded message, where it shows the total number of replies thus far, this will open the "Thread" window to the right of your screen so that you can view and/or respond to the thread.
- Once the "Thread" window is opened, you can respond to the thread like any other message.
To view how many chat members have read a message, follow these steps:
- Log into Superpunch Chat.
- Access the room and most recent message.
- Directly below the message there will be a counter , which will tell you the percentage of chat members that are up to date with reading the most recent message sent.
