Superpunch Chat Supervisor

Superpunch uses Automated Chat Channels as well as Manually Created Chat Channels and Direct Messages.

You will need to have a "Supervisor" role to manually create a channel. You can create channels right in Superpunch Chat.  

Create a Channel

To create a new Channel, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select the + New button to the right of "Channels".
3. Enter a name for the new channel in the "Channel Name" field.
4. Enter a description for the new channel in the "Channel Description" field.
5. Enter the username(s) of who should be included in the channel in the "Users" field.
6. Select Submit.

Channels can be given a name and description.

If a Superpunch user without the Supervisor role creates a Channel or DM that doesn’t include at least one supervisor, then the creator's supervisor will be added automatically (HR requirement). See Chat Restrictions for more information on Chat Restrictions.

To Create a Direct Message

To create a new Direct Message, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select the + New button to the right of "Direct Messages".
3. Enter the username(s) of who should be included in the direct message in the "Users" field.
4. Select Submit.

Direct messages must have more than two users in order for you to be able to give it a name, otherwise Direct Messages are named after the users in the DM. For information on renaming chats see this article.

Add or Remove Users

To Add or Remove a User, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select the Information icon to access the chat "Details".
3. Select +Add member and search for the user you wish to add to the chat.
4. Or hover over a specific user and select the X to remove them from the chat.

If you remove someone who's in a room because of their job, they will automatically be re-added. To properly remove them, their job in their Superpunch profile must be changed.
