Superpunch Chat New Features

New features have been added to the Marshmallow Superpunch Chat App! The new features being introduce are the following: 

• Adjust Side Panels
• Profile Avatars
• Room Sections
• Universal Search

Adjust Side Panels

To adjust the size of your side panels, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Hover over the outside vertical line for the panel that you'd like to adjust.
3. You will see a double-sided arrow icon , when you see this icon right click and drag the panel to the left or to the right depending on if you want to make it smaller or larger.
4. You can do this to both the left and the right panel to adjust it to your preference.

Profile Avatars

Add a Profile Avatar

If you'd like to upload a profile avatar/picture, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select your Profile Avatar in the top right corner of your screen.
3. Select Chat Settings.
4. Select Upload Photo.
5. Find the photo you'd like to upload on your computer and upload it.

Remove a Profile Avatar

If you'd like to remove a profile avatar/picture, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select your Profile Avatar in the top right corner of your screen.
3. Select Chat Settings.
4. Select Remove.

Room Sections

Create a Room Section

To create a room section, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select one of the following:
   • • Hamburger menu button (top left-hand corner of your screen).
     • New button (top left-hand corner of your screen).
     • 3 button hamburger menu (adjacent to any room section (Direct Messages/Channels).
3. Select Create New Section.
4. Select an Emoji (optional).
5. Enter a Section Name (required).
6. Select Create Section.

Edit a Room Section

To edit a room section, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select one of the following:
   • • Hamburger menu button (top left-hand corner of your screen).
     • New button (top left-hand corner of your screen).
     • 3 button hamburger menu (adjacent to any room section (Direct Messages/Channels).
3. Select Edit.
4. Make your changes (emoji or section name).
5. Select Save Changes.

Move a Room Section

To move a room section, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Right click on the section that you'd like to move.
3. Drag & drop the section to where you'd like to relocate it.

Delete a Room Section

You can now delete room sections. When a room section is deleted, any channels or direct messages that were within the room section that you're deleting will automatically be moved back to the Channels or Direct Messages sections. The Direct Messages and Channels sections are required sections and cannot be delete.

To delete a room section, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Select one of the following:
   • • Hamburger menu button (top left-hand corner of your screen).
     • New button (top left-hand corner of your screen).
     • 3 button hamburger menu (adjacent to any room section (Direct Messages/Channels).
3. Select Delete Section.
4. Select Delete Section again to confirm deletion.

Universal Search

You can now use the universal search to find specific messages, files, users and/or rooms.

Initiate a Search

To initiate a search, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Enter your search term in the Search bar at the top of your screen.
3. Select the Enter button on your keyboard or click on the Magnifying Glass icon to initiate your search.
4. There are five different tabs that may provide results for you, these are:
   
   • • All Results
     • Messages
     • Files
     • Users
     • Rooms 
5. If there are matching results for your search, it will display the number of matches on each tab in between the brackets.

Filtering Search Results

Messages Tab

To filter down your search results via the messages tab, follow these steps:

1. Select the Messages tab.
2. Select Message Type (required and you can only select one of the three options)
3. Enter the username in the "Senders" field (optional).
4. Select the correspond Room in the "Rooms" field (optional).
5. Select Apply Filters.

Files Tab

To filter down your search results via the Files tab, follow these steps:

1. Select the Files tab.
2. Enter the username in the "Senders" field (optional).
3. Select the correspond Room in the "Rooms" field (optional).
4. Select Apply Filters.

Users Tab

To filter down your search results via the Users tab, follow these steps:

1. Select the Users tab.
2. Find and hover over the corresponding user you were searching for.
3. To the far right you will have the option to:
   • • Select the Message icon and send the user a message.
     • Select View Profile to view the user's profile.

Rooms Tab

To filter down your search results via the Rooms tab, follow these steps:

1. Select the Rooms tab.
2. Find and hover over the corresponding room you were searching for.
3. To the far right you will have the option to:
   • • Select the Info icon, which will bring you to the details panel for the room.
     • Select Open Room, which redirect you to the room itself.

Sorting Search Results

To sort your results, follow these steps:

1. Log into Superpunch Chat.
2. Enter your search term in the Search bar at the top of your screen.
3. Select the Enter button on your keyboard or click on the Magnifying Glass icon to initiate your search.
4. Select Sort by relevance or Sort by newest using the dropdown menu just above your list of results.
